Yeah, massive failure. I give myself too many chances to fall asleep, naturally I will take them. Hopefully this will not be a reoccurring issue anymore. It’s almost like if I want to fall asleep, it’s a lot easier to make idiotic maneuvers when you feel like sleeping that much. Must stop.

Somehow I’ve managed to over sleep. I wake up today at 1:30pm. I can’t remember when I went to sleep or what happened before that. I would assume that at most I overslept two hours. Which is pretty bad, although that is not a guaranteed number. Still continuing, though. Hopefully my adjustment period doesn’t take too much longer because of this. Being extremely sleepy sucks.
Also, some of the times to stay awake are more difficult than others. It’s a lot harder to stay up from 12am - 8am. The narcoleptic micro-sleeps hit more aggressively, they are kind of difficult to get rid of. Just have to stay consistent and on top if it. I dare say it’s not bad at all, until these times hit.

This has a shifting effect, I have to shift my sleeping schedule over an hour. So now I sleep at 3:00, 7:00, 11:00. Both AM and PM.

So far so good. Little tired, still going though.
I want to try and expand on this website, add some more pages and information for anyone to look at. If there’s anything you feel is unclear or unanswered let me know. Maybe I’ll post a page about it.
Here’s an interesting article that has to do with optimum sleep levels. Here’s an excerpt: “Tests prove that there’s no physiological difference in the muscles or organs of the body when you’re asleep as opposed to when you’re simply lying still and fully awake.”

Well, this morning was a sane decision to over sleep. I had some minor back pain due to laying cement etcetera. I wanted to lay down for a bit and just relax, but the thing is that when I’m adjusting to the uberman I can’t do that. I would fall asleep instantly. So I made a decision to just sleep and continue this later. Which should be now.
The decision was completely stupid. Now that I read on webmd.com that I should be exercising my back and trying to use my back instead of waiting for the muscles to weaken. Anyway, after sleeping like 16 hours my back does actually feel better which is a plus.
In other news, my order of the book “Ubersleep” has arrived. So far what I read is pretty good. It’s written in a sort of “trying not to be a book” style. I don’t know what those are called, but many modern insight/instructive books are written in this style. So far I like it. I’ll include a more in depth review when I’m done with it.

[2.5]Well, this isn’t really nap 2.5, but it’s after the time of my usual 5th nap.
Anyway, Today I skipped two naps. 12pm and 4pm. I had to do this because I was doing some construction project and then I wanted to play some brawl with some friends. I could feel the tiredness creeping up as time went on, but it wasn’t really that overtaking at this point. Probably because I’m not fully adapted. It may also have to do with a short nap that I took on some stairs during a construction break. I just laid down and passed straight out. Judging by time estimates and what information I’ve heard regarding time throughout the day . My best guess would actually be around 20 minutes. I wonder if failing doesn’t really reset and damage all progress completely. Maybe it is still progressing.

Failure is unacceptable: The new method.
[1.1]For record keeping purposes, I am counting today [7/5/08] day one. Twelve AM was nap 1. Thus [1.1].
I am going to use a new method to prevent oversleeping for any reason whatsoever. The old method wasn’t good enough. My beeping alarm sucks because it only rings for like a minute and then it turns off, WHAT? Also the beeping is all low. Anyway, I’m still going to be using that alarm clock as my first wave of offense against the evil plague that is sleep. But, two minutes after that alarm goes off, I have set Foobar with the foo_scheduler plugin to play an mp3 on my speakers. I have set the volume pretty high to ensure (more…)
