“Standard” Polyphasic Sleep Examples
Uberman: 20 minute naps, 6 times a day.
Everyman: 1 core sleep which varies from 1.5 to 3 hours (or more) with several(or more) 20 minute naps throughout the day. If you choose a core sleep of 3 hours, you may only need to take 3 20 minute naps during the day. You may be able to experiment with this method and find very suitable core/nap timings that will be perfect for you. Takes a longer time to adapt to than the Uberman. Once you are on it, you are able to move around your nap times much more without such dire consequences.
Dymaxion sleep: 30 minute naps, 4 times a day. Supposedly you take these whenever you feel like you need to sleep. It seems like this method you cannot keep to a schedule.
Not polyphasic, but here for comparison.
Default: One core sleep. Ranges from 4.5 - 12 hours depending on the person. Very popular form of sleep. Very inefficient. For some reason this one seems to have taken off.
| Uberman | Everyman | Dymaxion Sleep | Default | |
| Nap #1 | 00:00-00:20 | 01:00-04:00 | Tired? | 23:00-07:00 |
| Nap #2 | 04:00-04:20 | 09:00-09:20 | Tired? | |
| Nap #3 | 08:00-08:20 | 14:00-14:20 | Tired? | |
| Nap #4 | 12:00-12:20 | 21:00-21:20 | Tired? | |
| Nap #5 | 16:00-16:20 | |||
| Nap #6 | 20:00-20:20 |
Maybe someday I will be able to test all of these for myself and give some educated insight.
